ABOUT ELIZABETH
I didn't leave corporate because I failed. I left because I finally got honest about what success was actually costing me.
THE CHAPTER BEFORE THIS ONE
I was extraordinarily good at a life I hadn't consciously chosen.
For more than 20 years, I led organizational transformation for some of the most complex institutions in the country - including Capital One Financial. I helped companies navigate the kind of massive, messy, deeply human change that happens when an organization is reinventing itself while still running at full speed.
I was good at it. Really good.
I held a Master's in branding and communication from VCU Brandcenter - one of the most rigorous graduate programs in the country for understanding how identity is built, lost, and rebuilt. I understood the mechanics of change at an organizational level better than most people in the room.
And somehow, in the middle of all of it, I stopped noticing that the organization I knew least about was myself.
THE HONEST PART
I had become a character called "Executive."
Here's what nobody tells you about building a successful corporate career: the better you get at performing it, the harder it becomes to hear your own voice underneath it.
I learned to read rooms with precision. To calibrate my language, my presence, my answers - to whatever the moment required. And it worked. Promotions. Leadership roles. A reputation built one polished interaction at a time.
But there's a version of that skill that crosses a line. Where you start forgetting what you were translating FROM. Where you stop editing your authentic self down for the room - and instead start losing the thread back to it entirely.
I have ADHD. I am curious, non-linear, deeply feeling, and relentlessly interested in the WHY behind everything. None of that was in the Corporate Executive Job Description. So I managed it. Contained it. Performed my way past it for years.
Until I couldn't anymore.
THE RECKONING
The day I realized the system I'd mastered no longer fit.
I remember sitting in a strategy meeting - polished blazer, precise language, everything perfectly calibrated for the room. Someone asked me a question. I gave a flawless answer. And I thought: who just said that?
Not in a proud way. In a disoriented way. Like hearing your voice played back on a recording and not recognizing it.
That was the moment I knew something had to change. Not my job title. Not my industry. Something deeper.
I had built an extraordinarily successful career on someone else's blueprint for what success was supposed to look like. And I was exhausted in a way that a vacation, a promotion, or a lateral move was never going to fix.
What I needed wasn't a new role. I needed to start from who I actually was.
WHAT I DID WITH THAT LIGHTBULB MOMENT
I spent 20 years building frameworks for organizational reinvention. Then I built one for people.
When my own transition came, I discovered something surprising: all the change management frameworks I'd used professionally didn't automatically translate to personal reinvention. Companies have org charts, P&L statements, and stakeholder maps to orient their transformation. People have feelings, fear, and twenty years of identity wrapped up in a job title.
The tools existed. But they needed to be rebuilt for a human being in transition - not a corporation.
So that's what I did. I took everything I knew about how change actually works at the organizational level - the stages, the blockers, the inflection points, the places where most transformations stall - and I translated it into a framework for the personal reinvention most corporate women eventually have to face.
I called it The CLEAR Blueprint.
Not because I had it all figured out. But because I had learned, through 20 years of professional practice and one very honest personal reckoning, what the path actually looks like.
THE WORK I DO NOW
The CLEAR Blueprint is the structured path I wish I'd had.
It is a six-stage framework designed specifically for women who have already proven they can succeed inside someone else's system - and are now ready to build one that's entirely their own.
It is not a course you take alone. It is not a coaching program with a checklist and a motivational quote at the end of every module. It is a structured, partnered journey through the real work of reinvention.
Stage by stage. With me alongside you the whole way.
THE SIX STAGES:
Recognize the Transition
Rebuild Internal Decision Trust
Build Your Entrepreneurial Operating System
Validate the Right Business Direction
Build Your Aligned Revenue Foundation
Create Your Personal Business Playbook
Because the best transitions don't happen when you follow someone else's map. They happen when you finally stop performing the version of success that was designed for someone else - and start building from who you actually are.
THE REST OF ME
A few things that don't belong on a résumé.
I live in Richmond, Virginia, with my dog Penny, who has excellent opinions about when it's time to stop working and go outside.
I believe travel is oxygen, not a reward. Europe at least twice a year is non-negotiable for me - not because I can afford it, but because I've decided my life requires it. That distinction matters more than it sounds.
I write on this blog the same way I talk to people I actually trust - without the audience filter on. No performing. No calibrating for the room. Just honest thinking from somewhere in the middle of building something real.
If that's the kind of conversation you've been looking for, I'm really glad you're here.
